Roadway Design and Construction elements included widening and resurfacing from 18 feet to 24 feet, 4800 liners feet of Lighthouse Road. Redesign and resurfacing of 25,000 square feet at the Visitor
Center parking lot, installation of deceleration lanes at the NC 12 Intersection and thermoplastic pavement markings.

Directional Bore of Water Main: Additional design and construction elements were the replacement of 28,000 linear feet of decaying 6 inch Asbestos Concrete Water Main with 6 & 8 inch Directionally Bored Fusible PVC, Jack and Bore 3 16” Steel Casings under NC 12 as well as 20 each 2 & 3 inch service connections, 21 blow-off valves and 11 new fire hydrants.
