Team Henry Enterprises is proud to play a role in the resurrection of Abraham Peyton Skipwith’s historic homestead, a cornerstone of Jackson Ward’s rich cultural heritage. Known as the "Founding Father of Jackson Ward," Skipwith became the neighborhood's first Black homeowner in 1793 after purchasing his freedom.

In collaboration with The JXN Project and local architecture firm Baskervill, this initiative brings Skipwith’s cottage back to its original roots in Jackson Ward. Originally moved to Goochland in the 1950s due to highway construction, the reconstructed cottage will serve as both a monument to Skipwith’s life and an innovation hub for Black entrepreneurship.

The JXN Haus represents a blend of history and progress, honoring the legacy of the "Harlem of the South" while inspiring future generations to build on its foundation of resilience and ingenuity.
